Private Classes and Special Events
Just Desserts offers customized private classes and classes for special occasions for adults in groups of 2-10. Larger groups can be accommodated in their own venues.
Classes in this category might include:
- You and your friend taking a weekday lunch time class where you learn how to make a beautiful, delicious lemon layer cake;
- a ladies Friday night out featuring chocolate desserts;
- a book club gathering to learn how to make great brunch foods;
- a birthday party for your girlfriend where the focus is on cupcakes;
- a baby or bridal shower focused around small and dainty dessert recipes;
- two or three couples learning to make dinner party desserts.
Pricing for a private class or event depends on number of students, theme, and length of class. Students will have time to sample their creations in class and also to bring home extra treats packed up in bakery boxes. They will also be provided with their own copy of the recipes.

Deirdre Parker, owner of Just Desserts, is licensed to provide instructional classes in her home and is a certified food handler. She has been teaching baking classes for 6 years privately and previously for the Fairfax and Arlington County Public Schools adult education programs. .
